QR Code Reader (from Images and Screenshots)
Pick an image or screenshot containing a QR code and its contents (URL or text) are read out. Works on both desktop and mobile. Everything is processed in your browser, so your image is never uploaded.
How to use
Just pick an image containing a QR code (a photo, screenshot, or saved image). Once it's read, you can copy the contents, or open the link directly if it's a URL. If it won't read, try cropping the image so the QR code appears large and clear, then try again.
Note: All processing happens entirely within your browser. Your image is never uploaded to a server. For safety, a scanned URL is never opened automatically, so you can review it and open it yourself.
FAQ
Is my image uploaded?
No. Reading happens entirely in your browser (on your device), and your image is never sent externally.
Can I scan live with the camera?
This tool reads from image files only. On mobile, you can choose “Take a photo” to read from a photo you just captured.
Sometimes it won't read.
Reading is more likely to fail when the QR code is small, blurry, or tilted. Cropping so the QR appears large and clear improves your chances of success.
Is it free to use?
Yes, it's free with no sign-up required.
