How to use
Use the buttons above to switch between “Add password” and “Remove password.
- Add: Select a PDF, enter the password you want, then click “Add password & save.” You'll get an AES-256 encrypted PDF.
- Remove: Select a password-protected PDF, enter its current password, then click “Remove password & save.” You'll get a PDF that opens without a password.
Note: All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your PDFs are never uploaded to a server. Please note that a forgotten password cannot be recovered.
FAQ
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. Both encryption and removal happen entirely in your browser (on your own device), and neither your files nor your password is ever sent anywhere. Safe even for confidential PDFs.
How strong is the encryption?
It uses AES-256 encryption (the standard strength for modern PDFs).
I forgot my password.
Without the correct password it cannot be unlocked (we do not attempt brute-force cracking). Please keep it safe.
Is it free to use?
